SCHEDULE and TRAVEL INFORMATION:

Your travel plan is according the start time of your booking. The seat reservation for the Jungfrau railway is linked with your travel plan.

1. From Interlaken Ost to Grindelwald Terminal


  • The train departs at Interlaken Ost from track nbr.2, Sector B. Please only board in Sector B where the train is marked with "Grindelwald"
  • after 36 minutes you arrive at "Grindelwald Terminal", please change here for Eiger Express cableway


2. From Terminal to Eigergletscher

  • The cableway "Eiger Express" takes you within 20 minutes to the "Eigergletscher" station
  • the cableway runs constantly
  • no reservation needed - please proceed directly to the entrance gate for the cableway


3. Take a look at the Eigergletscher station and then proceed to the entrance gate for the Jungfrau railway to Jungfraujoch


4. From Eigergletscher to Jungfraujoch

  • your ticket includes the mandatory seat reservation
  • please proceed 10 minutes before train departure to the entrance gate "with seat reservation"
  • there are no specific seat numbers reserved, just take a free seat in your section
  • the train runs through a tunnel - it doesn't matter which side you take a seat


5. Jungfraujoch

  • all attractions like Sphinx terrace, Ice cave, Alpine Sensation are free to access
  • Snow Fun park is subject to pay
  • there is the indicated "round tour" covering all sights at Jungfraujoch and it takes approx. one hour
  • there are different restaurants and a snack-bar available

6. Jungfraujoch to Kleine Scheidegg

  • please have a look at your travel plan for your departure time from Jungfraujoch
  • please board the gate for "Kleine Scheidegg" (there are separate trains running direct to Kleine Scheidegg during peak season. Off-season you need to change train at Eigergletscher station)
  • The train ride takes 37 minutes to Kleine Scheidegg


if you miss your reserved departure time, you need to queue for any connection (trains are departing every 30 minutes) at the gate "individual travelers" and you will be on the next train, that has available seats left.



7.Kleine Scheidegg to Lauterbrunnen

  • Change for the train to Lauterbrunnen (track nbr. 3)
  • you can make a stopover at Kleine Scheidegg
  • trains tor Lauterbrunnen are departing by the minutes .14 and .44
  • the direct travel from Kleine Scheidegg to Lauterbrunnen takes 41 minutes - feel free to make a stopover at Wengen village or at Lauterbrunnen to admire the famous Staubbach waterfall


8. Lauterbrunnen to Interlaken

  • trains from Lauterbrunnen to Interlaken are departing by the minutes .01 and .31
  • after 22 minutes you arrive at Interlaken Ost


Options for return travel:


With the itinerary here, we offer you the classical round trip. There are two other options for the return travel:


a) take the train from Jungfraujoch to Eigergletscher station and change for the Eiger Express cableway. From there you can get back to Interlaken by train (same route as the outbound travel)


b) from Kleine Scheidegg there is another train running to Grindelwald every 30 minutes, in case you would travel by train instead of the Eiger Express cableway and visit the village of Grindelwald. Trains from Grindelwald to Interlaken are departing by the minute .17 and .47



Your ticket is valid on all possible travel routes.

For the coghwheel train Kleine Scheidegg-Lauterbrunnen and Kleine Scheidegg-Grindelwald, there is NO reservation needed.
